Jalapeno Garlic Hummus

Hummus is an absolute must-have in our kitchens—we can’t get enough of it! We spread it on wraps and sandwiches, dollop it on salads, and scoop it up with fresh veggies for a snack that’s packed with protein and fiber. And here’s the best part: making hummus at home is incredibly easy and so much more affordable than store-bought. This particular recipe is one of our all-time favorites. It’s creamy, garlicky, and has just the right amount of kick—flavors you don’t often find on the shelves. Trust us, once you try it, you’ll want to make it again and again!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Extra Virgin olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 15 oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp fresh parley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the jalapenos and garlic. Sauté until the garlic turns brown. Allow to cool.
  2. Add the chickpeas, lemon juice, salt, cumin and jalapeno garlic mixture to a food processor or high powered blender.
  3. Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency, then gently mix in the parsley using a spoon. Scoop the hummus into a serving bowl with a rubber spatula, and serve right away.
